Yamaha U1D – professionally restored, warm sound

The Yamaha U1 model was historically produced between 1959 and 1965; older versions are known for their relatively soft and warm tone. This 1966 example retains that character and offers a pleasant, rich timbre.

Originally the U1D had two pedals. During our restorations we add a third pedal (moderator) to all these instruments, visible in the rounded shapes of the top lid.

Condition of the restoration:
Our team has fully renovated both the interior and exterior. The cabinet has been repainted with polyester high-gloss lacquer; the key coverings have been replaced and the soundboard has received a new coat of lacquer. The internal mechanism has also been restored to like-new condition.

Technical overhaul:
Strings and hammerheads have been repaired or replaced where necessary. All feltwork and the mechanical cheek reduction (verkerningen) have been renewed as standard. Brass components have been polished and look like new. Furthermore, all pianos are fitted with a practice pedal and a slow-fall (soft-close) on the fallboard.

Warranty:
We provide a 10-year warranty on this instrument, thanks to the complete overhaul and the quality materials used.

Silent options:
We supply various Silent systems; occasionally we encounter original, factory-installed Yamaha Silent systems, but generally we fit universal systems. This gives you the freedom to choose an instrument from our full range and have a Silent system installed behind it.
