Yamaha U1D refurbished with warm, classic tone

This is a refurbished Yamaha U1D: a model built between 1959 and 1965 and known for a relatively soft, warm tone compared to later production years. The instrument has been thoroughly restored both internally and externally and plays again like a well-maintained piano.

During the overhaul the case was finished with a black polyester high-gloss lacquer and the key coverings and the internal mechanism were renewed. The soundboard received a new coat of varnish; strings and hammerheads were repaired or replaced where necessary. All felt parts and the key bushings (verkerningen) in the action were replaced and all brass parts were polished. The instrument is fitted with a practice pedal and a slow-fall on the fallboard.

Originally the Yamaha U1D had two pedals; in our restorations we routinely add a third (moderator) pedal, recognizable by the curves on the top lid. We also offer various (universal) silent systems and occasionally have examples with an original Yamaha silent system installed at the factory. You can choose a piano from our range and we will install a silent system on request.
