Yamaha U1 SH — full, balanced sound & new hammer heads

The Yamaha U1 SH2 combines the tonal strengths of a carefully engineered U1 with the flexibility of the modern SH2 silent system. With a revised scale, soundboard and frame, the instrument achieves a fuller, more balanced tone across the entire keyboard. Specially selected, newly developed hammer heads ensure a clean response. The finish is an elegant black; the key lid closes softly.

In active Silent mode, the hammers no longer strike the strings while the playing feel is retained, and the signal is made audible via headphones. High-resolution grayscale sensors capture the key movements and transmit the data to the sound engine. For sound selection, among others the Yamaha CFX concert grand and the Bösendorfer Imperial are available; in total around 20 sounds are offered (e.g. piano, organ, strings, harpsichord, synth pad, choir). Control is via a slim unit located below the keyboard; functions such as metronome, recorder and Bluetooth® audio are integrated.
