C. Bechstein E 280 — restored grand piano with precise intonation

CASE
The piano case has been finished with high-quality Italian polyester lacquer. Selected elements — including the lower lid, the lid support strip, the prop, the binding and the inner side of the keyboard cover — have been protected with clear Italian polyester lacquer. Some parts have been given decorative veneer, which gives the instrument an individual character.

ACOUSTIC SECTION
The soundboard underwent a comprehensive renovation and was then coated with Italian lacquer. We prepared new caps for the bass and treble bridges — made from selected beech wood and profiled in four stages. Strings from renowned manufacturers were installed: Heller bass strings and Roslau treble strings, scaled individually based on measurements. We made a new, five-layer pinblock from hard maple with tight grain, which improves drilling stability and increases tuning durability. The cast-iron frame was restored and coated with a suitably chosen lacquer.

MECHANICAL SECTION
The piano action underwent a full renovation. Hammers and hammer shanks were replaced with new parts from ABEL. The keyboard was comprehensively restored, and the white keytops were replaced with new Kluge Ivoplast keytops. The action and keyboard were given precise regulation. The instrument underwent eight tunings and intonation carried out by a certified technician.
