Description
An exceptional one-off piece from the Petrof pianoforte manufactory, built in 1882. This salon grand piano has undergone a thorough, professional restoration and is now in a technically and visually like-new condition. The touch is balanced and responsive, the tone full and warm — ideal for refined salon and concert settings.
The action received new hammers, new damping elements, fresh action felts and refurbished keyboard fittings; afterwards everything was re-regulated. The acoustic setup was also completely overhauled: new stringing, new tuning pins and a restoration of the soundboard followed by sealing. The cast-iron plate was repainted and newly finished.
The elaborately restored cabinet with rich carvings was carefully refinished and gives the instrument its unique character. Overall, the grand presents as a lovingly and faithfully renovated one-off in excellent condition.
