Introducing the c.1898 Steinway Model A grand piano
The Steinway A measures 6'2 (188cm) in length, slightly longer than the ever popular Model O with it's longer bass strings and a larger soundboard area allowing for a richer and more colourful tone.
This piano has just been fully restored by Europe's premier restoration house using all Steinway parts, and is in superb order throughout. The piano was manufactured in c.1898, it is an 'old style' grand with 85 keys and two pedals, finished in a stunning high gloss lacquered rosewood veneer.
The piano features the beautifully turned 'elephant legs' and carved music desk, along with the original ebony and ivory key surfaces, making it a stunning piece of period furniture too.
Upon arriving at our Haslemere showroom the instrument has benefited from a bespoke setup including voicing, regulation and fine tuning by our in house technician, and it is on display in our showroom and ready to compare against our other used and restored Steinway pianos.

A unique character piece
With a beautiful rosewood veneer, our c.1898 Steinway Model A benefits from a high gloss polyester lacquer finish for a lustrous shine and lasting durability. Many pianos of this era were 'modernised' in the 1930's, yet the ornate elephant legs remain, along with the beautifully carved music desk and inlaid marquetry Steinway & Sons logo on the fallboard. A top quality musical instrument and a wonderful period furniture piece, certain to become the focal point of the room.
Restoration by the premier Steinway specialists
Having been sourced and its restoration commissioned by Chamberlain Pianos, our Steinway Model A has been beautifully restored by Europe's premier piano restoration house, specialising in Steinway pianos. The original casework and cast iron frame remains, along with the ebony and ivory keyboard to retain as many of the piano's original features as possible. The critically important moving components however have all been replaced, including a new top action from Steinway Hamburg, along with all perishable components.
Bespoke setup & warranty
Prestige instruments from Chamberlain Pianos are supplied with a complimentary bespoke setup in your home, along with a five year warranty for your peace of mind. Fine adjustments to the voicing and regulation can personalise your piano to your playing style and repertoire, while also enabling the piano to sound its best in the room.
