Steinway & Sons C-227 – overhauled, powerful and precise

This Steinway & Sons C-227 (227 cm) from 1982 has been extensively restored and combines impressive size with classic elegance.

The case has received a new deep-black high-gloss polyester finish; a Steinway logo is present on the side. All brass fittings, casters and pedals are original and have been carefully refurbished.

Technically the grand piano has been comprehensively overhauled: the cast-iron plate has been re-painted, and strings and tuning pins have been completely replaced. The soundboard, bridges and pinblock were found to be free of cracks and have been professionally serviced. Other components remain in their original condition, underscoring the very good substance of the instrument.

Sonically this C-227 impresses with great presence and depth: the treble is clear and delicate, the mid-range is notable for its tonal coloration, and the bass is powerful and particularly warm. In larger rooms the piano projects confidently and allows very fine dynamic gradations from the most delicate pianissimo to full fortissimo.

The original Steinway action guarantees a precise response, quick repetition and a direct, controlled playing feel – ideal for professional pianists, concert use and demanding enthusiasts.
