Description
This Steinway & Sons C-227, built in 1982, combines imposing size with classic elegance and has been comprehensively refurbished. With a length of 227 cm, it is the second-largest concert grand model from the Hamburg manufacturer.
The cabinet has been newly finished in deep black high-gloss polyester with a side Steinway logo.
All brass fittings, casters, and pedals are original and have been carefully restored.
Technically, the grand has undergone thorough refurbishment:
The plate received a new finish, while strings and tuning pins were completely replaced. The soundboard, bridges, and pinblock were found to be crack-free in original condition and were professionally refinished only.
All other components remain original, reflecting the excellent underlying integrity of this instrument.
Tonally, this C-227 impresses with remarkable presence and depth.
The treble sings with refinement and clarity, the midrange is colorful and supportive, and the bass is powerful with exceptional warmth. Projection remains confident even in larger spaces, while the instrument allows for the finest dynamic gradations from delicate pianissimo to full fortissimo.
The original Steinway action ensures extremely precise touch, fast repetition, and a direct, controlled playing experience. Every nuance can be shaped with great differentiation, making this an instrument that offers maximum musical freedom for professional pianists, concert venues, and ambitious enthusiasts alike.
This exceptional instrument, along with many others, can be extensively tested in our showroom.
Three years of KlavierLoft warranty are included.
