Steinway & Sons C‑227 – overhauled, powerful concert sound

This Steinway & Sons C‑227 (227 cm) from 1982 has been comprehensively restored and combines an impressive scale with classical elegance.

The case has received a new deep‑black, high‑gloss polyester finish; the Steinway emblem on the side cheek is preserved. Brass fittings, casters and pedals are original and have been professionally refurbished.

Technically the grand has been completely overhauled: the cast iron plate has been repainted, and strings and tuning pins have been fully replaced. The soundboard, bridges and pinblock showed no cracks and have been professionally serviced. Other components remain in their original condition, which indicates a very good substance of the instrument.

Sonically the C‑227 impresses with great presence and depth: clear, delicate treble, a nuanced midrange and a powerful, warm bass. In larger rooms the instrument projects confidently and allows fine dynamic gradations from delicate pianissimo to full fortissimo.

The original Steinway action ensures precise response, quick repetitions and a direct, controlled touch — ideal for professional pianists, concert use and discerning enthusiasts.
