Description
Steinway D Piano
More than a piano it is a work of art in the visual and in the sound part.
Our company spent 6 years for the acquisition of this beauty, it was used as a concert piano in a palace by a family who loved music and Art.
Although the piano is from 1877, it was in 1900 when the noble family performed their great concerts in the palace.
We have brought this piano to one of the most popular and reputable restoration workshops in Europe.
All mechanisms are original from the brand.
We have preserved the nobility of the Rosewood with a varnish of the time.
Its character in general is as if we had gone back to the year 1877.
This grand piano was known as a “Plain Grand Style 2” piano.
The 274cm piano was Steinway’s flagship model, and we note that it was the first piano with eighty-eight keys, crossed strings and three pedals made at that time. In other words, like current pianos, hence the great vision of the 21st century of technicians and engineers.
So, this piano became the Steinway “Model D” concert piano icon. And of course with the Tuning to 440HZ like the current pianos.
This instrument has several patents that revolutionized the world of piano, the projection and richness of the sound of the Harmonica table and the double repetition action.
When this instrument was built in 1877, Steinway & Sons had become the leading piano manufacturer in the United States.
Piano makers around the world embraced innovations like the cast iron frame and stringing, both of which featured on this instrument long before other makers.
