Description
This Steinway & Sons Model M grand piano was built in Hamburg in around 1994 and is a lovely example of this well proportioned and highly regarded model.
At 5’7” (170cm) in length, the Model M is a popular size for the home, offering a balanced combination of musical presence and practical proportions. It sits comfortably in a wide range of domestic environments while maintaining the tonal depth expected from a Steinway grand.
This instrument has been well cherished throughout its life and regularly maintained by the highly regarded technician Jeff Shackell, who fitted a new top action in 2019. More recently, the piano has been fully serviced in our workshops and finely set up by John Ross, former Head Technician at Steinway & Sons UK, ensuring it performs to a high musical and technical standard.
Acoustically, the piano offers a warm and resonant tone, characteristic of this era of Steinway. The maturity of the soundboard is beautiful, giving a unique depth and richness across the registers, with a pleasing balance from bass through to treble.
The casework is in very good condition and the overall state of the instrument certainly reflects the careful ownership and ongoing professional maintenance it's had.
With a new Steinway Model M now exceeding £100,000, this instrument represents a fantastic opportunity to acquire a Hamburg Steinway grand of proven quality, offering both musical enjoyment and long term value. - 16403
