Description
Due to moving abroad,
I am offering my Steinway O Welte from 1936 for sale.
The instrument was completely overhauled by me in 2023 (I am a piano builder/concert technician at Steinway&Sons Munich): new Steinway hammer heads with corresponding hammer shanks, new sides, new damping, new action felts.
In addition, both the bridges and the soundboard have been renewed. To be precise, the soundboard has been spied out.
The cast iron plate and the case have been refinished.
The instrument is like new, it has hardly been played by me.
The grand piano was never fitted with a self-playing system, although it was already equipped with one at birth. Steinway decided at the time that the installation of such a system was superfluous in view of the advent of the radio.
It is actually 208cm long (due to the extra length of the keys) and about 5cm wider than a normal Steinway O.
These dimensions help to maximize the sound output
The warranty is offered directly by me.
The instrument can be viewed in the Munich area.
First contacts via email.
